“When you look back at the history of New York, Irish & Chinese cultures were a big part of the city's melting pot, we wanted to celebrate that history.”

― Co-founder Jon Yu

In the vibrant tapestry of Manhattan's Lower East Side, a new cocktail destination emerges, enticing taste buds with a fusion of Irish and Asian flavors.  Meet Jade & Clover, a craft cocktail bar that weaves together the richness of tradition with the excitement of innovation. Jade & Clover is a dual-experience marvel, nestled behind the unassuming facade of a Chinese apothecary adorned with jars of aromatic herbs and spices into a realm where mixology meets culinary artistry.

Jade & Clover is the product of a dynamic collaboration among founders Jon Yu, Dennis Condon, Donald Nguyen, and Annie Cao, each with roots deeply embedded in Chinatown's cultural fabric. Together with beverage consultant Gelo Honrade, head bartender Jessica Bui, this cohesive team not only crafts exceptional cocktails but also shares a profound connection to the local community, having been a part of various businesses in the neighborhood over the years.

After entering through the unassuming apothecary storefront, be prepared to be transported into an oasis of taste and aesthetics.  The front room boasts a luxurious stone bar & gilded back bar, the focal point for the creation of Jade & Clover's signature fusion craft cocktails. The concoctions are a symphony of Irish and Asian influences, taking inspiration from their rich cultural upbringings with creations like Chrysanthemum Collins, a nod to co-founder Jonathan Yu's childhood, takes inspiration from the popular chrysanthemum juice boxes he enjoyed growing up.  The team also sources ingredients directly from Chinatown, fostering a connection with the community they hold dear.   Fresh fruits from local markets, coffee from New York's Fill Up Coffee, Fung Bro’s SMÁLÀ chili oil inspired by the flair of local neighborhoods, and sugar cane juice from Chinatown's own Sugarcane Daddy all contribute to the local authenticity of the bar's offerings. “We wanted to use all of these exciting Asian flavors you can find here in Chinatown while supporting the local community and couple that with some of the incredible Irish spirits & flair.” added Jon.

The fusion of flavors extends into the cultural calendar as well. Jade & Clover curates its menus to evolve with the changing seasons and cultural celebrations. During Lunar New Year, patrons can anticipate a selection of Asian-inspired drinks, incorporating culturally significant ingredients such as mandarin to symbolize prosperity and luck. As St. Patrick's Day approaches, the menu transitions to celebrate Irish flavors, showcasing the versatility and creativity of Jade & Clover's diverse mixologists.

Beyond the bar, the back room invites patrons to unwind in sleek and modern lounge-style seating, creating an atmosphere perfect for relaxation and camaraderie.  Bar goers can revel in the rare delight of enjoying dim sum after dark, which traditionally is hard to find after local Chinatown institutions close for the evening.  “We really wanted to combine the traditional element of dim sum alongside our drinks, but we’re adapting it into a bar goers experience that usually happens long after dim sum parlors have closed for the night.” Jon added.

In addition to its commitment to celebrating cultural diversity through its culinary offerings, Jade & Clover is embracing and supporting the local community.  Jade & Clover is already planning special charity events with APEX, a charity organization focused on empowering underserved Asian and immigrant youth in NYC.

Jade & Clover welcomes you to savor the extraordinary fusion of Irish and Asian influences with us.
